Footprint - Browser Extension - Pitch Deck

Ideation

Footprint is an chrome extension that incentivizes users to make sustainable mask purchases by recommending eco-friendly alternatives at online check-outs, all the while quantifying their impact.

  • Through using this extension, users can save money with the click of a button, which seamlessly integrates into their ecosystem.
  • Footprint enables users to visualize their impact, and make data-driven decisions about their purchases
  • Users can track their carbon footprint and learn how to offset it
  • Be able to track their progress and compete with your friends

User Flow

  • Add a mask to their cart, and then display the Footprint extension
  • Calculate the carbon emissions of the mask a user has selected related to the manufacturing and transportation of the product
  • Display how carbon-friendly the mask is, compared to others in the database
  • Provide alternative recommendations to the current masks in their online cart based off of the user onboarding test.
  • Display a users’ entire footprint of the total emissions created by purchasing products and provide recommendations to offset it

Future Considerations

  • Footprint can expand beyond pandemic essentials, to purchases such as food, packaging, clothing, etc.
  • Incorporate in-store alternatives, to even further reduce the carbon impact of online shipping
